Valentine's Day Delights

Valentine's Day is not the most ideal day to go out to a restaurant for dinner---its obscenely crowded and many places skimp on their "special" menu...so I usually try to make a special meal at home....But this year, I was working all day...But, to my own surprise, I came home around 7 pm to find that my significant other had prepared the following menu:

FIRST COURSE:
* Walnut Salad with Sheep Gufanti Tartufo Molitnerno (ie: soft sheep's milk cheese with a black truffle ribbon) on Belgian endive.

SECOND COURSE:

* Sunchoke Smash with Homemade Sage Butter Whip.

THIRD COURSE:

* Fresh Garlic & Herb Linguini & Black Truffle Gratin

FOURTH COURSE

* Steamed Lobster Tails with Meyer Lemon Butter and Grilled Asparagus

The meal was so delicious...I loved every bit of it!

Out of curiosity, what did you do or eat on Valentine's day?! Feel free to share some stories!

The endive walnut salad looks delish, as does the linguine gratin! Your dinner looks better than what most people would have gotten for their V-day dinner. Totally jealous of the lobster tails =)

Beautiful! Well done Jase! I did an endive salad (walnuts, apples, blue cheese) with beets to make a pleasantly-pink starter. Main dish was an annual tradition: spicy *Harlot Sauce* over pappardelle... an alleged aphrodisiac (tomato, kalmata olive, caper, red pepper), topped with feta. Paired with sturdy Zinfandel. Next came pink cheesecake w/ sour cream lemon layer and oreo crust, topped with cherry/berry confit. Paired with Framboise and Godiva truffles to finish. The *dessert* that followed was even better ;)

Morgs....hang on to that dude! That was the most gorgeous meal ever! My BF and I did something old-fashioned and extremely romantic...we shared a box of leftover chicken wings while sitting on my couch watching UFC. And they say romance is dead.
